Traffic Management Information Systems are composed by more than ten subsystems. There is one most important database for the Traffic Management Information System, which iscalled the main database in this article. The subsystems are developed by different companiesand they may don’t care as much as the database administrator about the importance of theperformance of the main database, though it is very important to do so for all. As one of thedatabase administrators, finding out who is dragging down the performance of the main databaseand make them try some other better ways to data access is his major work. This article is trying to do this not by professional tools developed and applied by the thirdcompanies, but the dynamic inner views offered by ORACLE database itself, together with thescripts and programs written by ourselves. In the process, we introduced space graph, which is anew way of tracing and resolving problems. It can be realized by a complicated picture drawn ona plate surface, or the modern office tools like excel etc. We use excel to describe the process oftracing and resolving problems in this article. The space graph in excel format can still wellexpress the complicated condition of the development of the Traffic Management InformationSystem, and the alternative choosing characteristic of problems resolving ways. In this way, wefinally get the problem resolved. The way we used described with the space graph or excel tables format in this article wouldhelp other companies who encountered similar problems. The ORACLE performance viewingand tuning techniques used in this article in finding the cause of the problems is supposed to beused by other systems which is in a similar situation or have many similar complicated problems.
