Oracle is becoming more and more popular, and many database administrators pay attention to the management and performance tuning of Oracle. It is the main factors that Oracle is configured unreasonably and optimized by inappropriate methods, which has been proved by practice. The management and monitoring of Oracle database is analyzed in detail. The performance tuning and real-time monitoring technology of Oracle are researched from a completely new perspective in this paper.Firstly, the knowledge of Oracle architecture and its performance tuning is introduced. Focused on the problem of performance decreasing in Oracle running, the method of performance tunning is analyzed from memory, I/O, SQL and network performance, in order to run Oracle in optimal performance.Secondly, the paper researches on the method of SQL performance tuning. Focused on the performance mode is singler in existing method about SQL tuning, an efficient algorithm of SQL tuning using Euclidean distance is introduced. In addition, its effectiveness is proved and analyse the experimental results.Thirdly, the paper creates a new method to develop Oracle database monitoring system using the free Struts framework to fulfill the MVC design mode based on the platform of J2EE architecture. The current monitoring softwares are C/S mode, so database administrator can only view the database running at the corresponding server. Finally, the Oracle database monitoring system is designed and realization in this paper. Its performance is tested. The testing result indicates that this system has successfully solved the main problem existing in the Oracle database management.
