To solve the problem of database performance degradation, improve database performance optimization and simplify database monitoring work, this article proposes a database monitoring system architecture to locate and resolve database performance problems accurately and efficiently. The system locates the database performance problems through Oracle Wait Interface and resolves the issues through troubleshooting tips module. The studies of this article include:(1) After analyzing the current situation of database optimization and application of our country and studying the mainstream database monitoring and management software, this article propose a database monitoring system architecture to improve the existing database monitoring system.(2)The way of increasing system throughout and reducing the response time of database system is studied.The defects of index optimization method proposed is analyzed. This paper proposes an improved method based on index optimization method. Via comparing the differ ent methods in the optimization of three different test conditions,the validity and feasibility of the improved processing method can be varified.(3)Putting the wait events locating database performance problems introduced monitoring system, designed a module of troubleshooting tips, waiting for the event to achieve the corresponding solutions tips.(4) The design and implementation of the database monitoring system is introduced in detail. The creation of database, the implementation of user interface and the collection of relevant data are included.This thesis proposes an improved processing method based on the defects of method pro posed, and categorizes test into detailed classification.So the effectiveness and stability of the method proposed in this paper can be varified. This thesis studies the wait events, troubleshooting tips module and application of troubleshooting tips module in database monitoring system. The system regularly monitored and stored the data of database, and users can query the data in the database.Experimental results show that Oracle Wait Interface can locate database performance problems effectively. Database monitoring system can resolve database performance issues quickly and efficiently, and simplify database monitoring work.
