With the development of computer graphics, the application of virtual realitytechnology becomes more and more widely. The LiPb loop is an importantexperiment platform in the study of liquid metal LiPb Blanket of Fusion Reactors.There are lots of pipelines in LiPb loop, we need take transparent processing topipelines and simulate the exterior of liquid metal LiPb in order to observationexperiment. Many algorithms which can render to photo-realistic images, but needcomplex computing, and can’t achieve real-time render on the ordinary computer.Therefore, based on research of the LiPb loop simulation system, this dissertationpropose a high quality rendering method with strong sense of reality which alsomeet the requirements of real-time, the main contents includes:(1) Improved Transparent rendering method of alpha blending: Alpha blendingmethod is widely used to render transparent objects in fixed graphicsrendering pipelines, because alpha blending method uses unified alphablending factor in fixed graphics pipelines, and can not modify freely whichcause the transparency of the whole scene consistent does not match the realsituation, so the realistic of rendering is weak. This article uses modernprogrammable GPU and adjusts the alpha blending factor dynamically, that isby giving every vertex different alpha blending factor based on model’ssurface properties to enhance the realism of the resulting image. Theadjustment strategy of alpha blending factor is based on the following facts:regions around object silhouette look more opaque than the middle and in thecase of lighting the direct light areas will be more transparent.(2) Fluid appearance based on glow effect: particle system is so far the mostsuccessful kind of pattern generation algorithm to simulate the irregularobjects, and can simulate the fluid effects well. To be able to display the fluidappearance well, we utilize programmable GPU to add glow effects to theappearance of the fluid, the glow is caused by the scattering of light and canmake the objects more bright in the scene, therefore we can generate dazzlingeffect to the appearance of the fluid under the premise of not adding thelighting calculations, and make the rendering effect more realistic or morefantastic. (3) Apply to LiPb loop simulation system: LiPe loop simulation system canimprove the efficiency of the experimental platform. The method is applied toself-developed LiPb loop simulation system, then we can observed the internalmetal liquid LiPb though the transparent pipeline, under the promise ofreal-time, an excellent demonstration effect obtained.
