Design And Implementation Of Management System For Web-based Remote Multimedia Teaching System

The21st century is the age of internet and information.With the development ofthe software technique and the two-way system on the internet, people could share allkinds of information they want, and chat online at any time. So, it is very necessary todesign and realize the remote multi-media teaching management system which isbased on WEB and under such system, one can put the excellent educated materials onthe internet for everyone needs them, then instruct them to classify the materials.The paper has adopted the long-distance teaching management on the basis of theWEB by technology from open source. and the system of Oracle10g and Java as adevelopment platform, using a combination of B/Sstructure to ensure the security andusability of the system. After analysisng the system, the paper shows the chart ofbusiness and data progress and the chart of connection, even the data function, designsthe data of relation type, the input and output picture, and the way of realizing them.The main functions of the system are:1）“management and maintenance of thestudents information”, for managing the basic information of them;2）“class set”, formanaging the information of classifying the students;3）“management andmaintenance of the teachers information”, for managing the basic information of them;4)“choose lessons”, letting students choose lessons and keeping them in the data base.5)“inquiry the students’ chosen lessons”, for information they want;6)“assessmentfor the lessons”, letting students mark the lessons they choose;7)“on-line teaching”,study the lessons by watching media lessons;8)“management of online homework andexchanging the methods about teaching” for teachers to make homework, to makestudents to do them, and make it continent to communicate between teachers and students;9)“system maintenance”, for system keeper to maintain the data base.For further realizing the functions of every Modular, the system uses J2EEtechnology, MVC architecture, Struts, Spring. At the whole developing process ofsoftware, from the research of demand of it,to the compiling of the system code, to thedevising of the data base, to the on-line test, is strictly carried out.The system provide the students with the abundant study sources to finish theirlessons; to give the students involved the long-distance studying instruct by theirteachers in time, and vice versa; to give teachers the instant transportation tools tosupport their teaching. The system give the application worth and reference value.
