The number of vehicles increases substantially with the rapid development of economy inthe cities,while a variety of transportation facilities growth is relatively slow. This makes thepressure on urban transport system greater which results in the increase in the number of trafficaccidents, and low efficiency of urban transport systems."Parking difficulties "has more andmore become one of the trouble faced by Government and car owners. The problem has becomeincreasingly prominent and the demand of Parking Spaces Monitoring System increases, thesubject proposed a problem which design a city parking monitoring system based on theanisotropic magnetoresistive sensors (AMR) MMC21xMG.The program is based on the principle that the presence of vehicles on parking spaces willaffect the distribution of the magnetic around the ground. High sensitivity Anisotropicmagnetoresistive sensor MMC21xMG is chosen, combined with a specific algorithm precision todetect the geomagnetic field changes in real-time to determine if the parking spaces are free.The paper first describes the background to the study of systems, the principle of AMRsensors are used for parking space monitoring, and then describes the design of the hardware ofthe detection module in the system, including the AMR sensor node and communication basestation. AMR sensor nodes is the pioneer in the source of monitoring which affect the accuracyof the system directly, the communication base station is the center of data transmission, whichis responsible for senting data to the upper server. AMR sensor nodes of the system is installedon the parking spaces, so it is battery-powered. Therefore, it has a high requirements on thepower consumption of the circuit.The article describe several ascepts from the perspective ofenergy saving, include the selection of the AMR sensor, the design of circuit, and the way itworks.Then, several key technologies of the parking-stall-detection system are discussed in thepaper, which includes data readed from sensors, establishment of the sensor network and thealgorithm of parking stall detection. Also, each module’s and software’s work flow are given inthe following paragraphs. At last,the article show the results of the experimental demonstration,which indicates thatthe accuracy of the system arrives above90%.The research of parking shows that this detectionsystem is feasible and efficient, with low cost and wide application scope.
