In this dissertation, chaos generation in erbium-doped fiber single-ring lasers was investigated with experimental study and numerical simulation.In the theoretical study, two methods were used to generate chaos in erbium-doped fiber single-ring lasers. The first method was delayed feedback and the second was loss modulation. The corresponding items were added in the dynamic equations of laser. By adjusting variable parameter appropriately in the two methods, chaos generation could be realized in erbium-doped fiber single-ring lasers. In the experimental study, erbium-doped fiber single-ring lasers system was set up, and the degree of freedom could be increased in erbium-doped fiber single-ring laser by adding the delayed self-feedback loop or electro-optic modulators. Theoretical and experimental results showed that erbium-doped fiber single-ring lasers could go into chaos state through the roads of period-doubling bifurcation and intermittency methods. |
