Erbium-doped fiber is widely used as a novel laser source and optical amplifier in optical fiber communication. The unpredictability of chaos has a certain influence on the stability of optical system, so the chaotic controlling research of this laser is the hot topic at present. Therefore, a means of chaos controlled by coupling-feedback phase-shift is presented for dual-ring single erbium-doped fiber lasers in this text. Its physical model is elected and the feasibility of this method is proved through theory analyzing and simulation results showing. Moreover,the controlling regularity of this method and the changing rule of oscillation period as the system output is single-period are further analyzed and summarized. The specific content of this subject included below:Firstly,the dynamics equations have been established. Dynamics equations of double-ring erbium optical fiber laser are established after combination of the principle how laser produced, characters of erbium optical fiber, the working principle of resonant cavity about the laser as well as the structure of resonant cavity about the laser. Moreover, the text also gives the zero-stationary solutions linear stability analysis theoretically and fixes the threshold of double-ring erbium optical fiber laser.Secondly, the dynamics characters and chaos controlling method of double-ring erbium optical fiber laser have been analyzed. Not only the changing regularity of system output as the parameters changed has been discussed, but also the text comparing and analyzing the controlling principles as well as controlling effect of several chaos controlling methods.Lastly, a means of chaos controlled by coupling-feedback phase-shift for dual-ring erbium-doped fiber lasers is put forward, Its physical model are presented. The controlling influenced by two control parameters is discussed through theory and simulation independently. The evolution law of system output as the change of controlling parameters was summarized. Then the changing law of oscillation period as system is controlled into the single-period was gotten the further discussion.The method of chaos controlled by coupling-feedback phase-shift mentioned in this text makes the double parameters controlling come true and magnifies the controlling domain. The complete analysis on controlling regularity of this method provides thread and means with a certain reference value to the research on chaotic controlling regularity.
