In order to optimize Ninxia Telecom with a more reasonable network structure and more network flexibility, it’s a necessity for Ninxia Telecom to perform a network flat and IP transformation.EPON technology has provided the best solution.This paper discussed the principle and differences of PON-related technologies as well as the principle,protocol and key technology of EPON in the first section.The following section consists an analysis of current broadband access network, business requirement and existing problems facing Ninxia Telecom. On the basis of previous discussion and the idea and methodology of EPON Technology, this paper put forward the solution to Ninxia Telecom’s broadband access network optimization. At last, in accordance with the implementation requirement and test methods of EPON Technology in China Telecom, implementation of broadband access network optimization and transformation is carried out. Analysis against the performance of optimization shows that EPON Technology has not only made visible contribution to the rationality of network access and the profitability of investment, but also provided our customers with closer connection, broader bandwidth and variable business applications. It is believed that discussion in this paper has a guiding significance to the transformation of broadband access network of Ninxia Telecom.
