Routing is one of the key technologies in Wireless Sensor Network (WSN). According to the energy resources, communication bandwidth, storage space and processing capacity of the sensor node is strictly limited, the traditional Internet routing protocols and security authentication mechanisms can not be applied to WSN. Therefore, a new routing protocol must be designed for WSN, which aims at reducing node power consumption and improving communication quality.In this paper, the main work based on the classic routing protocol LEACH is the following three aspects:(1)At first, we introduced the architectiure, the system model and the operating mechanism of LEACH routing protocol in detail, and summarized the advantages and disadvantages of the LEACH, we analysised and compared that different simulation parameters, such as the location of the base station, the number of cluster heads, make some impacts on the performance indicators of WSN, also we obtain the result of the optimal nuber of cluster heads. The result will become the matting of the following research.(2)In order to solve the problems in the routing protocol LEACH. The paper presents a Multi-hop and Clustering Routing Algorithm based on Energy Optimized for WSN (EOMCR). It selects the cluster head nodes based on the energy factor and the ratio of energy and the consumption. Common node chooses a cluster to join in based on the composite distance. A cluster head node transports data to the other cluster head by the pattern of multi-hop routing. Experimental results show that the new protocol prolongs the lifetime of WSN. Compared with LEACH and other protocols, The duration of the stable phase is increased by41%-146%, the number of the rounds of the MND phase is increased by70.6%-239.7%, the total energy consumption of the network is reduced by48.1%-62.2%.(3)For the flaws of LEACH, The paper presents a Secure Routing protocol Scheme based on LEACH (SRPS). The new scheme introduces an ID-based key agreement protocol and improved broadcast authentication mechanisms based on μTESLA, and we proposed a real-time information authentication mode based on hash function, also the new scheme support the updating of the key and the expansion of the network. The new scheme can resist the attacks in all forms effectively. In addition, the simulation results of energy consumption show that the new routing without excessive consumption of network energy compared with LEACH and other protocols. So the new cheme is useful for WSN.
