Nowadays，with the telephone andthe computer, the television set is one of the most important electronic produces, andthe three networks that the cable television network, the communication network andthe Internet are been committing to merge at home and abroad, which can make thecommunication among the three networks convenient. With the rapid development ofelectronic technology, the TV industry has being learning from other electronic andcommunication industry to integrate into itself and its own technological developmentbesides its own keeping making progress to improve itself.Digital TV is one of the products affected by the trend of the digital trend.Compared to analog TV, picture and sound quality of digital TV has great progress,because of which digital TV users get better viewing experience. At the same time,with the introduction of digital technology, the number of television programs hasalso been greatly increased. Digital television system is an important part along withthe digital television signals and digital TV. On the basis of the basic structure ofanalog television system television, the parsing function module is added to digitaltelevision for parsing digital signal and the function of using the information of dataparsed out, such as EPG (Electronic Program Guide) which is a very important featuredistinguished from analog TV, digital TV also has interactive features, such as NearVideo On Demand, stock browsing and so on.Middleware is a very important layer of software in the digital television system,the significance of emergence of middleware is that developers do not have toconsider differences among different underlying hardware too much, and can portsoftware and code easily and simplify the development process of the top softwareprograms, saving the cost of R&D of digital TV. It can be said that the digital TVmiddleware emergences from numerous TV manufacturers not only improving the quality of digital TV viewing but also cutting costs. The development of digitaltelevision and digital TV software system is a product of commercial competition.The research background of this article is based on research and development of acorporate project. In this paper, digital TV middleware and the main function of whichare realized. This paper first introduces the concept of digital TV middleware, andthen gives a comparative study of today’s middleware standards. After that, this paperanalyzes Chinese own middleware standards, give the differences with otherinternational middleware standard and the reference from them. According to themiddleware standard at home, this article designs a model of the middleware, andgives the in-depth research and design of PSI/SI data parsing algorithm, the EPG datacollection and information structure. The designs above have been tested at a digitalTV platform, and get the desired results.
