Research And Implement Of MPEG-2 Transport Streams Multiplex And Demultiplex

With the development of digital television, MPEG–2 has become the standard in the application field of digital television, especially in encoding and transmission of digital television broadcasting. With the great demand of program diversity and high quality of audiovisual information, it is emergent in net working and intercrossing in digital television. In this situation, it becomes more important to multiplex programs. The development of multiplexing technology based on MPEG-2 standard facilitates usage of channel bandwidth.MPEG-2 is an open and developing standard. It is always being developed and comsummated. The charactics of MPEG–2 decides that it will be the basis of digital audiovisual system in a long period in the future.The paper is focused on the research of the multiplexing and demultiplexing of MPEG–2 transport streams. At first, the paper introduces the system standard of MPEG–2. Based on the theory, it soloves the problems of synchronization of audio stream and the synchronization of video stream. It puts forword the arithmetic of using the relationship of PCR and DTS to decide the order of multiplexing. At the sametime, it also does research on demultiplexing and bring forword a means to finishi it.In application of the research results, it provides a series of software of multiplexing and demultiplexing. The softwares are running on Windows system. But MPEG–2 is a complex standard, it doesn't regulate the specific means of multiplexing and demultiplexing, so there is much work to be done, such as the multiplexing of multi-programs, multiplexing and demultiplexing done by both software and hardware.
