Rapid development of science and technology has brought rapid changes to people’s lives, and advances in communications technology have a profound impact on social civilization and progress. In the past period of time, great changes happened in the world’s communications. The rapid development of mobile communications, cellular in particular, makes the human beings escape from the bondage of terminal equipment and implement completely personal mobility, reliable delivery and continuous way. As in the21st century, large-scale commercial and mobile communication has been developed to become the indispensable and important means of communication, as essential for social development and progress nowadays. As the3G communications technology development, the network planning and optimization in WCDMA networks become more and more important. The data service demand is getting higher and higher. Airport Express is an important road from downtown Zhengzhou to Xinzheng International Airport with31KM full length, larger traffic. Customers complain about slower-speed data service, unsmooth mobile TV on the Airport Express frequently. Therefore China Unicom Henan Company made the Airport Express in WCDMA network optimization as a special optimization and required to increase the HSDPA average rate. Finally, from the expand investigation analysis of this item’s problem as well as large of site test, test data analysis, several factors that effect HSDPA data performance have been found. By improve weak cover regional, RF adjustment,23G re-election parameter adjustment, power adjustment, replace for airport high speed of antenna type, adjust community azimuth angle pitching angle, and modify switch parameter layer three filter coefficient developed solutions for improving HSDPA rate have been settled. According to the validation of implemented effects, it can be concluded that the HSDPA speed of WCDMA network on Zhengzhou Airport Express has been significantly increased. Standardization documents have been kept on consolidating the effectiveness. This paper also give a brief introduction of HSPA+, witch was extended from HSDPA technology as well as the current situation and work focus of HSPA+’s improvement.
