The direction of development of mobile communication technology is diverse, broadband, WCDMA 3GPP R5, R6 specification, the introduction of HSPA downlink rate can reach 5.76Mbit/s and 14.4Mbit/s. HSPA+technology of HSPA Evolution version, it can theoretically 22 Mbit/s and 42 Mbit/s uplink and downlink data transfer rate. At present, the global mainstream operators to deploy HSPA network of HSPA means greater system capacity, higher speeds, better business support capacity, lower latency.The main content of this paper included an introduction to the evolution of HSPA technology, to upgrade to the WCDMA HSPA networks, the project background. Study of several key technologies in HSPA and WCDMA networks to upgrade to a provincial capital city of A, for example, HSPA technology networking applications, and analyze the network status of the city of A, in particular the feasibility of the HSPA upgrade program analysis, given the HSPA upgrade programs and specific project implementation plan, specific programs are discussed in detail from the wireless network side of the program to the core network side.My main job is research and analysis the ablity of A city’s WCDMA core network and wireless network upgrade to HSPA+. In the actual project, participation in the formulation of specific upgrade program and to coordinate the various branches to the base station software upgrades, expansion of IP transport board, expansion of the transmission equipment, network transformation, the circuit is opened. Has now completed a smooth transition from the existing network of WCDMA devices to of HSPA equipment running good, tests have shown to the user peak rate and the district system throughput to 21.6Mbps, 14.4Mbps upgrade from HSPA version of the network spectrum utilization and improves networking performance and user satisfaction.
