The telecom market of China has entered the3G era. New technology brings new services, new services facilitate the development of new network, and the maintenance of telecommunication network also changed. This paper reviews the development process of transmission technology. It analyses the current situation of transmission network in China Unicom Beijing Cooperation after the reorganization, and definites the mobile station transmission failure, clarifies the process to handle the failure of transmission base station. It also summarizes the troubleshooting method and experience of both fixed network and mobile network, and presents the new method to reduce the mobile base station transmission network failure.After the reorganization of China communication market, three big telecom corporations arose, China Unicom got the WCDMA3G license, and aimed to provide services to meet various types of communication demand.3G mobile network has its particularity, and the transmission network has higher requirements. Thus the PDH, SDH transmission way was unable to satisfy the requirement. The Author researched the integration of China Unicom Beijing Cooperation’s transmission network at the beginning of3G business, by using MSTP, ASON and other networking. At present the whole mobile transmission network is divided into four layers:the core layer, control layer, convergence layer and access layer, according to different equipment manufacturers Beijing local transmission network can be divided into two networks of Huawei and Alcatel. The transmission network problems (stand mainly for the transmission devices and transmission line) caused by the mobile base station which made the stations unavailable to use are known as the base station transmission failure. Base station transmission failure can be divided into transmission line failure and transmission equipment failure, which can be inspected by the transmission network management system. According to the transmission mode the base station transmission failure can be divided into the microwave transmission failure, SDH transmission failure, and PDH transmission failure. The paper mainly focused on the difficulty to solve the base station transmission failure, and it also introduced the China Unicom Beijing Cooperation’s integrated failure handling system, describes seven branch process to handle station transmission failure, expatiates the maintenance responsibilities of different departments. Finally, this paper gave the statistical analysis of base station transmission failure on2010, and the optical line problems are summarized.
