The Research On The Solution Of GSM Handoff Failure In JinZhou Unicom

In recent years, the business of mobile communication has developed rapidly in ourcountry. To the network operators, the quality of network has become a key to capture themobile communication market and achieve success. Only by constantly optimize network,we can make the network to be a best operation state and obtain a better economic benefit.Drop call problems caused by network degradation have become a major source ofcomplaint for the operators. How to improve the performance of the network throughoptimize technology and at the same time reduce call drop rate has become the biggestproblem to the operators.This paper attempts to find a variety of methods to solve drop call problems byanalyzing it in GSM and connecting with the actual situation. First, it starts from the basicconcept and development history about mobile communications, and then analyzes theGSM status and network optimization importance. Second, it explains the basic purpose ofnetwork optimization from a point of view about network and business, and introducessome network optimization contents such as concepts, processes, common tools, positionand solutions.This paper explains the principle of the drop call problems and analyses the detailsin the SDCCH channel and TCH channel. This paper describes the process of drop callproblems and finds the appropriate ways against different drop call problems. This paperanalyzes the reasons of disconnection including coverage, switching, parameter settings,equipment hardware, interference, antenna feeders, transmission failure, repeater andnetwork upgrade and their solutions. Last, through real case to explain the method oflocation problems and the solutions to the drop call problems.The methods in this paper are able to guide the network optimization engineers ofoperators and equipment providers to locate and resolve the drop call problems in thenetwork effectively. This program can improve the network efficiency and customersatisfaction.
