Software-Defined radio (SDR) technology can realize all kinds of digital signalprocessing algorithms with software in programmable DSP chip or CPU chip platform,which must be realized by Application-Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) formerly.Through SDR technology, the system compatibility will be improved and theproduct’s development cycle will be shorter. That means systems can be reconfiguredand upgraded more conveniently than before.Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) technology characterizedby many brilliant advantages, such as high signal quality transmission, wide networkcoverage, efficient spectrum utilization and good capability of providing high-speedmultimedia service with low cost. Therefore, the study of WCDMA transmissionsystem and its components are very meaningful and valuable.The development history of WCDMA is first briefly introduced in thisdissertation. Secondly, the physical-layer of WCDMA and the function of eachchannel data, such as DL-DPCH, P-CPICH SCH, are analyzed. Thirdly, the designscheme of main components of WCDMA transmitter and receiver are studied in deep.And then the Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) is adopted to evaluate thedesign of physical-layer modules and the whole system in this dissertation. Finally,the scheme proposed by this dissertation is evaluated through software simulation andon-chip test. And the result shows that the proposed scheme can achieve therequirement of WCDMA transmission system evaluation, and get the target ofdata-flow communications.
