The implement of precision agriculture includes three components,which are the collection of farmland information,the management and decision-making of the information and the variable operating.The collection of farmland information is the precondition to put the precision agriculture in practice.Quickly and efficiently capturing and describing the variable information which impackting the crop space environment is the basement to put the precision agriculture in practice.With the development of embedded technology,GPRS,wireless sensor networks,GPS, multi-functional portable terminals began to be used field data collection, a terminal is introduced in this paper, it can be used for collecting information and can be queried anytime.It also suits for the agricultural production requirements. The terminal for farmland information collection and query which based on the ARM and DSP can collect the fixed terminal information by using ZigBee wireless sensor networks,also can put moving collection in practice by use it.The collected information sent to the Host-server by GPRS can be saved and released by host-server after being cataloged. At the same time, the host-server database can be browsed by terminal GPRS module with synchronization, and displayed to the users by friendly man-machine interface.The system functions and application fields are specified based on the analyse of curre nt disadvantages of farmland information collector, according to National High Technology Re search and Development Program (863Program)"Key technology research of agricultural mobil e intelligent service system based on embedded3S technology"(item number is2008AA10Z226). The main research content of this paper is divided into hardware and software compon ents.The hardware component is constituted by the dual processing cores of ARM and D SP, wireless communication module, image acquisition module,GPS module,farmland attribu te information acquisition module,touch screen module, power module,etc. software compon ent:the embedded type Qt and CCS3.3development environment is built up, the kernel is customized for the terminal,and the HPI driver is programmed and loaded. On the priori ty basis, the farmland information collection query software system is consisted of six part s, the ZigBee wireless sensor networks communication subroutine, GPRS wireless communi cations subroutine, GPS positioning subroutine, farmland property acquisition subroutine, far mland information inquiry and human-machine interface subroutine. Finally, system is debu gged and tested.
