Currently, exhibiting in the marketplace is the main mode in the most process offurniture sales. Of course, there are some traditional furniture stores start ElectronicCommerce. But texts, flash animation and pictures and some traditional method areuserd as the main ways to show the product online, and propagates the product featuresmerely in the introduction level. The customers can see the furniture only from theangles which are given by businesses,so they can’t see the furniture from the their ownangles. All of these features will affect the effect of online products exhibit. The paperdoes some researches on the furniture show online based on Virtual Reality to achievethe effect that it looks like the customer in the sence to see the furniture.Through thesie researches of the features of Virtual Reality, VRML is chosen as theshow tool. Hybrid Modeling with VRML and3Dmax is used to establish the models.EAI is used to interact between Java Applet and VRML. The following works are donein the paper.The thesis introduces the basic principles of VRML and the variety of nodes inVRML. It also gives a brief introduction of the VRML implementation of variousinteractive methods and the some common VRML browser plug-ins.The thesis presents establishing the model based on the simple geometry modelingand vertex-based geometry modeling in VRML, and introduces the method, proceduresof the hybrid modeling with VRML and3Dmax. The paper also analysis the problemsmay exist and methods to deal with them when combination them. Two VRML tools toedit the VRML scenes are also presented in this paper.Finally, using the theory of software engineering and the tools ofPowerDesigner,though the phase of requirements analysis,outline design,detaileddesign,software implementation,system testing,the system is successful implementation.
