Located between the upper program management system and the underlyingindustrial control systems, manufacturing execution system (Manufacturing ExecutionSystem, and MES) is a workshop production management and control of informationsystems in the modern manufacturing process. MES is able to provide the managerswith real-time production implementation of the plan, the status information ofmaterials, equipment and staff in the workshop, thus facilitating the execution andscheduling of production activities. Manufacturing execution systems to help businessesset up a "communication" between the planning layer and control the bridge to fill theplanning layer and control layer between the "divide". Manufacturing in an increasinglycompetitive market conditions, manufacturing execution systems for enterprises toimprove the production of information and level of automation, and thus enhance thecompetitiveness of enterprises to provide a guarantee.The subject of this study is in MES workshop production process monitoringsystem, to be built on the cable production plant of Things as the basis formanufacturing execution systems (MES) platform, a Matter of production workshopnetworking line the production of the cable companies, in real-time online acquisitionand monitoring of production, semi-finished and finished products, and productioninformation, seamless connection to achieve real-time production information with theERP system, cable companies a comprehensive information management.The paper first describes the development status of the MES development in theworld and the workshop production process monitoring system.Secondly, the paper elaborates the concept of the MES system, introduced thedefinition of MES, MES functions and MES application characteristics.Then, the analysis of the workshop production of network monitoring system,including: workshop production monitoring system features analysis; monitoringnetwork system design requirements; based on field bus (RS485, CAN, TCP)-basedwireless networks (GPRS/GSM, ZigBee introduced) monitoring system.And then, through the critical analysis of the technology and framework requirements of Things for the workshop production features, from the rational use ofresources and workshop scheduling real-time, and expounds the Internet of Thingstechnology in the production monitoring system, the specific: The introduction of theZigBee network, the Internet of Things data collection methods, production and qualitydata tracking.Finally, cable production plant as a research platform, the function of the systemdesign, specify the application layer network protocols, hardware and software designand MES terminal system gave an explanation.
