In recent years, with the development of Internet of Things, more and more embedded devices are integrated into the Internet. However, due to the lack of clear, standardized, interoperable communication protocols, traditional sensors are typically locked into closed system, which hinders the access to such sensors that can be available in other information systems.The Web of Things is to use the Web concepts and technologies to abstract the devices into resources and service abilities to the Web, making the embedded devices and business easier to access.Meanwhile, the Social Network Sites have deeply penetrated into people’s daily lives. But existing Social Network Sites are all human social networks. There haven’t been a Social Network Site between human and things. In order to achieve information sharing of Internet of Things, the paper proposed the concept of Social Web of Things (SWoT), in which the device can be a user and communicate with human/other devices in natural language.This paper proposes an architecture of Social Web of Things, which based on WoT architecture and the concept of Social Network Site. In this architecture, the sensors’raw data can be translated into natural language according to the context, and the natural language in microblogs can be interpreted into machine language, which makes devices understand each other and make device raw data understandable by human (user-friendly). The paper also gives the analysis of the differences between SWoT and SNS, gives the design of the APIs for SWoT based on existing SNS APIs to meet the special requirements of SWoT.After the design of the architecture, the paper gives an implementation of SWoT application, and gives the description of the software architecture, the function flow and the realization of each important module in detail. The SWoT application provides a reference case for future study and improvement.
