Along with the development of modern education,at present our country isexpanding the development scale of long-distance higher education,and thedevelopment method is just starting to expand too.As an important part of modermteaching methods,test system,combining with the database,has a good prospect.Due tothe continuous development of computer network technology based on WEB,the onlineexamination system of higher education has become an important part ofexamination,will become a reseach topic for higher schoo to carry out further study in atime.That is,how to make examination more scientific,objective and applicability,inorder to satisfy "the employment as the guidance,quality as standard,ability as the core"talent training mode.With the help of the long-distance education and examination system based onWeb,we can complete the following system.The system uses the advaneed technologysuch as JSP,Servlet,JavaBean,ete.to realize the funetions like the item poolmanagement,the paper created manually-automatically,the teacher’s andexaminees’information management,the examining proeess control,and the inquiry ofresults of examination.In the system design proeess,use the JSP and Servlet to handlethe user interaction to realize the links,shifts and security among web pages.The JDBCis used to realize the organization of backstage supporter’s database.The system adoptsB/S strueture,uses the JavaBean to encapsulate complex logic data,through the Servletproeessing and MVC design to separate show layer from business logielayer.Finally,about the automatic marking system of subjective questions in the networktesting system,the article illustrates a method to carry it out,which is the automatiemarking algorithm based on XML.The server system adopts Windows Server2003,and database platform SQL Server2000,which is conveniently used,and well scalability,and integrated highly with relatedsoftware.The client system is based on the web platform,as long as you have a webbrowser you can login on exams， which is concisely and easily used.The system uses the J2EE technology to design the user interface,which reflects the Java languageplatform-independent characteristics and good safety.
