With the continuous development and improvement of embedded development technology,computer network technology and multimedia technology, all kinds of related technical are moreand more widely applied to the power industry, and it has become increasingly feasible in thevideo surveillance of transmission equipment. Because of the Bandwidth of the traditional wirednetworks and wireless network is limited, there is a serious impediment to a real-timetransmission of video, the ITU-T and ISO/IEC jointly developed a new generation of videoimage compression encoding standard H.264/AVC to get high quality video in the smoothtransmission of limited bandwidth. Compared with the previous coding standard, H.264standarddrives a great extent to improve the video compression ratio, but it increases the complexity ofthe encoding operation. In recent years, the performance of microprocessors has constantlyimproved, embedded systems based on the H.264compressed video communications becomemore and more simple and feasible. Combining the embedded technology and next-generationvideo compression technology H.264will become the trend of development in the field ofgrid-based video communications applications.Based on this situation, the Samsung make the S3C2440high performance microprocessoras the core, combines with the embedded Linux system and a new generation of videocompression coding standard H.264video,designed and implemented an embedded H.264videocommunication system. Through the study of embedded and digital image processing technology,Proposed a design of mini2440development platform-based video communications systems.Paper work from the following aspects: First, the system hardware resources needed, customizedset of embedded Linux development platform; Second, analysis H.264main function modules,and some of the key coding techniques;Third, prepared a video capture application, combinedwith the source of T264, complete video capture and compression functions of the H.264/AVCformat video data. Video capture and compression system design and optimization, using theUDP protocol to complete the sending of the compressed video stream.The test results show that the gentle scene, the image compression rate and good quality,small delay time in the the mini2440the development of on-board video, enabling remotemonitoring of power transmission equipment. Its structure is simple and reliable. It has importantreference value of the video monitoring system of transmission equipment as well.
