In2009, China surpassed the United States to become the world’s largest auto market, with sale of13.6million motor vehicles. Statistics of Organisation Internationale desConstructeurs d’Automobiles (OICA, The International Organization of Motor VehicleManufacturers) showed that China’s vehicle production is18.4million in2011, ranking firstin the world. With the development of the automotive industry, multi-function automotiveelectronic systems having GPS, multimedia player and mobile TV reception are graduallypopular in the automotive electronicsThere are strong design and manufacturing capabilities in China’s electronics industry, and the design of vehicle’s electronic entertainment system in the country is also in theascendant. Vehicle’s electronic entertainment systems are requested to have radio, video andaudio player, TV receiver, CD/VCD/DVD player and many other functions. For people’srequirements of entertainment are getting higher and higher when they are in cars, in thispaper, vehicle’s audio and video play system was studied by analying existing embeddedmicroprocessors and embedded operating systems, combined with practical market andautomotive systems application environment requirements, then we designed a cost-effectivevehicle’s entertainment system. This system was based on an ARM9architecture chips andembedded operating system with μC/OS Ⅱ kernel, mainly implementing functions of radio,HD video and audio playing, dual touch supportting and picture browsing.Embedded vehicle’s system designed in this paper expand the μC/OS Ⅱ kernel to meetoverall system needs, including transplanting the input subsystem from the Linux operatingsystem to this system, and implementing dual touch in four-wire resistive touch screenthrough software algorithms, you can easily use two fingers gestures to zoom in or zoom outthe maps and pictures, which further improved the user experience satisfaction. Auser-friendly interface was also designed in the system supportting HD video and audioplaying, to complete a full-featured, stable performance, cost-effective vehicle’s audio andvideo entertainment product.
