As tourism has become more and more popular and necessities for everyone,tourism industry become a very important pillar of the tertiary industry. The functionof tourism to a region’s development, the pulling of urbans’ employment and thepropaganda of urbans’ culture and business cards has become more prominent. As ainformation-intensive industry, virtual tour based on virtual reality can not onlyenhance the level of information technology, the service capabilities and the optimalallocation of resources of the whole industry, but also promote the protection ofnatural and cultural tourism resources.Because the utilization rate of Flash player is more than90%, an online virtualtour system based on the Flash3D not only no need to install the plug-in, also be ableto integrate the most commonly multimedia elements. Through the interactiveroaming design, the system can provide visitors a more realistic feel to bring userexperience a qualitative leap.This paper achieve a efficient, scalable, and highly portable on-line virtual tourprototype system.The system is based on the message mechanism, through XML filesto achieve the integration and on-demand configuration of all modules and parameters.Through the analysis of on-line virtual tour system’s bottleneck, this paper proposesand designs a solution to optimize all of the3D scene’s building process, includingthe optimization design of model files, material files and building steps. To solvevirtual tour system’s single means of performance, the system supports a variety ofmedia, including three-dimensional object, Flash, video, audio and picture. By thehotspot subsystem, the system not only achieve the support of Flash in the3D scene,but also through the response of the hotspot to realize3D model’s on-demand loadingand display, and improve the interaction of tourists with scene.After the researching of virtual tour system’s roaming methods, the systemproposes a new interactive roaming control method. By Using the WayPoint methodand shortest path searching algorithm, tourists can roam along the shortest pathbetween any two points in the scene. With a series of optimize designs of the roaming process, the effect of roaming is close to the real. Based on user experience theory andthe demand of the virtual tour system, the system designs and implements virtual toursystem’s map and menus, and other common functions in Flash.By considering the level of information technology of China’s tourism, throughresearching virtual tour system’s bottleneck problems, this paper proposes andimplements a online virtual tour system based Flash3D, whose performance hassignificantly optimizing and improving. The system provides a reference for thelarge-scale applications of virtual tour.
