As a kind of electronic tags, passive RFID tags do not require an external powersupply, but directly restore energy to provide the operating voltage from RF signalsreceived by the antenna, so it need a conversion circuit to receive energy, that is, chargepump circuit. Therefore, in the RF power accepting system of passive electronic tags, the research of low-power input-independent MOS AC-DC charge pump has importantresearch value and broad application prospects. In this paper, a novel low-powerinput-independent MOS AC-DC charge pump design is implemented in a0.18μmCMOS technology library, the presented charge pump consists of two blocks: a basicMOS charge pump and a low power regulator. To improve the input sensitivity, thispaper replaced conventional Schottky-diodes with zero threshold MOS diodes, whichhas less process defects and is more compatible with other circuits. In this paper, it iscompleted presented charge pump’s design, simulation, performance testing and thelayout finally. The test performance indicators of this proposed charge pump with a1MΩ load resistor have: input900MHz RF power changes from-19.25dbm to-1.82dbm, the output reaches1.5V, the deviation of the output is less than5mV; thesettling time is30.54μs; the obtainable largest conversion efficiency is33.8%; thiscircuit power dissipation is only50μW; the size of whole chip is only75.75μm×31μm,and this paper have achieved the design demands.
