In recent years, the rapid broadband business development, increasing user demand for bandwidth, there are the drawbacks of existing copper network, has become the carrier business development, the biggest bottleneck of the user experience of broadband networks, the renovation of the existing access network has become an inevitable trend. Passive Optical Network (PON) as a new type of optical fiber access network technology has undoubtedly definitely ahead of other access network technologies, PON technology to enhance network access capabilities, improve profitability, and advanced technology to integrate successfully into the existing networks, has become an important issue for operators.This article briefly describes several PON fiber access technology, combined with the actual situation of the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office district based EPON FTTH optical access mode in-depth discussion and planning, the selection of equipment in the network transformation, network architecture, fiber optic cable planning, business planning, resource management-described, and focus on the network architecture and business to achieve elaborate.
