Analysis And Application Of EPON In BeiJing Unicom Access Network

The traditional copper access way has become a high-bandwidth last-mile transmission bottlenecks for users, Optical Fiber Substituting Copper Wire " is the inevitable choice for operators, while EPON as a new access network technology, its unique advantages plays an important role in the optical access network. This paper is mainly for EPON access technology, and the selected topic has great application value. The main tasks are as follows:1. The author introduces Ethernet Passive Optical Network (EPON), and summarizes PON technology standards, principle, the key technology and advantage.2. The author analyzed current situation of Beijing Unicom access network, including the problem of ADSL, LAN and module office, and also elaborated the necessity of EPON in Beijing Unicom access network. The author illustrated that with the lower price of ONU, FTTH gradually came into common family, and became the main networking mode of Beijing Unicom.3. The author analyzed a project of Beijing Unicom in Xisanqi, and introduced the construction program and the construction of power cable, including the deployment of OLT,ODN and ONU and how to assign IP address. To verify EPON access network is feasible, the author tested the program after it finished, and proposed the existing problems and solution, and provided the reference for future project.
