GPON technology is a passive optical network technology in recent years, is widely used in various types of transformation of FTTX access networks in the future direction of development. GPON technology can provide downstream bandwidth of up to2.5Gbit/s rate can be adapted to the evolution of metro broadband network access layer transformation and convergence layer transmission bearer needs to meet the future needs of the development of broadband; GPON technology theoretically can provide up to1:128split ratio can be reduced to the trunk cable and supporting pole road, pipeline investment. GPON technology to access greater than20KM distance can reduce the number of access network point, simplifying the network structure of the MAN.The main content of this study is the the CTT Zhejiang branch of MAN GPON renovation project design and engineering practice. The paper First make a simple analysis and comparison of telecommunications metropolitan area network technology, introducing telecom metro transport, broadband,access network bearer, passive optical network technology characteristics, types, and comparison of three passive optical network technology, focusing on the GPON technology principle, characteristics, network mode. Then analyzed Zhejiang CTT metro transport, broadband access network status quo and from the transformation of the necessity, feasibility, and scope of the transformation needs to conduct in-depth analysis. Lower through the analysis and combination of Zhejiang CTT MAN development status, to determine CTT Zhejiang branch of MAN GPON renovation project the overall planning, implementation of the segment; improve the user experience; to maximize use of existing resources, reduce construction costs; MAN maintenance costs of the design principles. According to the above four design principles proposed the Zhejiang CTT MAN transformation of the physical topology and Zhejiang CTT metro transport, access, broadband network carrying way to transform the overall technology program.
