As science and technology development and social progress, data acquisition has become one of important ways for people to access to information around us. Increasing types of signal and complexity of processing algorithms, proposes more and more requirements on conversion speed and accuracy of data acquisition. In addition, data acquisition systems as the important means of fully aware of information in the Internet of Things (IOT), are required to have the ability of distributed terminal deployment and large amount of data throughput.The fundamental principles and the algorithms in the field of energy measurement have been analyzed in detail in this paper, while the basic concepts and relevant knowledge of data acquisition has also been introduced, and domestic and foreign development been researched. With combinating subject requirements, the overall system framework of ARM-based synchronization data acquisition card has been designed and implemented, which is eventually used in the power meter calibrator.On hardware, the system, with MCU STM32F107as the system controller and AD7656as the ADC module, can achieve the synchronous acquisition of voltage signal, digital front-end processing, network and control. The whole system includes power module, data acquisition module, network module, the trigger pulse module and so on. The parameters of the hardware system are as follow:maximum250KSPS sampling rate per channel with independent input voltage range of±10V;4trigger pulse input channels;10M/100M Ethernet communication ability.In terms of software, TCP/IP protocol has been used to implement the control and data transmission. The software instructions include handshake instruction, sample rate setting instruction, pulse channel setting instruction, data acquisition instruction and the terminate instruction. The software owned can be performed under the various data acquisition modes matching the host.The data acquisition card can be used in energy meter calibration as demonstrated. The meter calibrator, which bases on the concept of virtual instruments, has achieved the setting of system parameters, the collection, storage and computing of power parameters, the diagnostic of power grid, and the detection and alarm of equipment faults. The whole system is been strict tested to confirm to reach the target.
