Currently the advantage of SoC (System on Chip) is gradually exposed, and it has become the main way of IC design industry. System designer will finish a project development quickly through the recombination of IP(Intellectual Property) Cores reasonably and flesxibility. UHF RFID technology has been widely used with the rapid development of the IoT(Internet of Things). The design of reader chip plays a vital role in the RFID industry, therefore the development of a set of SoC system with baseband processing unit has very practical significance.According to the above background, this project is to design a set of SOC system with UHF RFID baseband protocol processing unit based on OR1200. This system is combined with OR1200, which is open source, and other IP Cores, which meet the Wishbone bus protocol, such as GPIO unit, UART unit, LCD controller, memory controller, Ethernet controller and baseband protocol processing unit, etc. In the same time the transplantation of operating system can make this system more integrated. The design and verification of IP Cores is based on a development board with an Altera Cyclone Ⅳ FPGA as its central chip, design method and timing verification of part of the IP cores are described in detail; Then the cross-compiler environment support OpenRISC architecture is build for softeware development. In this paper the method to design linker script and Makefile for test software compilation is listed; Transplantation of Embedded Linux OS and development of relative hardware drivers based on this platform is main job in the software aspect, two examples, framebuffer and net device driver, are given to show how to design a device driver based on Linux. At the end of the project, a SoC system, on which hardware and software can work together steady, is implemented.
