UHF RFID is the most recent world first-class technology. It booms up in recent several years and its application is spreading out quickly. UHF RFID has advantages of long identification distance, precision recognition, speedy identification, high anti-jam ability, relatively long life and the ability to penetrate non-metals. Those features have made UHF RFID promising and developing fast in the recent future. As the fundamental technique for UHF RFID, the development of reader has been the key of the performance of whole system. However, the domestic research on UHF RFID has just started, and especially, competitive self-owned key technique on reader hasn't been set up.Based on those problems mentioned above, we have done the research theoretically and experimentally in expectation of the supplementation of domestic technique on UHF RFID reader and providing some basic theoretical exploration on the national standard of self-owned electronic tag and reader. This paper has concentrated on the following topics:1 Specific research and experimentally implementation on the reader of UHF RFID;2 Research and implementation on the smart reader based on high-performance ARM;3 Specific research on the self-owned UHF anti-collision arithmetic several or evenmore tags access the reader at the same time;4 Research on the modification of RF parameters of the reader;5 Research on the UHF compatible protocols in order to support well the maininternational standards and protocols, and to support the self-owned UHF RFIDcommunication protocols after some upgrades.
