With the rapid development of electronic technology, automated test system has become a modern test of a very important area of development trend; pulse generator is now in the field of measurement and control equipment as a test of a common source. The pulse generator can produce a modern range of accurate, continuous pulse parameters can be mobilized to meet the needs of a variety of excitation source.This paper is to build a pulse generator in the FPGA’s internal waveform generator module, resulting in amplitude; pulse parameters can tune the pulse waveform. First introduced the pulse generator of meaning and value; Secondly, the design of the overall program is to introduce the design concept, the module build theory; Once again, details in the detailed functional modules within the FPGA circuit design and simulation; Finally in other parts of the device design and simulation debugging options. The design idea is to ARM+FPGA, ARM as a control part, FPGA as part of the pulse waveform generation. Finished by reading the pulse generator instrument of foreign materials, proposed design, program design and PCB schematic drawing. Part of the FPGA design, product selection of the clock chip clock generation, and improve system stability; Pulse delay adjustment through the use of coarse-chip+chip tuning to achieve, using the system clock as a synchronization clock to the on-chip to coarse; Indicators designed to improve the resolution of the pulse, using a programmable delay chip. Synplify software through the integrated modules; software module with Modelsim functional simulation and timing simulation; final circuit using a similar method to draw the generated symbols overlap with each module to complete the whole system chip design, and through the JTAG download tools downloaded to the FPGA on the system debugging.
