With the rapid development of modern information and communication technology, high speed programmable pulse signal has been widely used in the field of modern measurement, detection and diagnosis.The demand of the pulse signal, which is wide bandwidth, pulse width, precisely controlled pulse width and delay,programmable, is becoming more and more urgent. Amied at the domestic demand for the pulse generator,the main task of the topic is to carry out research of pulse signal generatortechnology whose main function is to realize multi mode and multifunctional pulse signal,the pulse width and delay can be precision controlled. The main research contents of the topic include:1.Pulse signal synthesis and control technology researchPulse generator that can synthesis a pulse signal include single pulse and double pulse, burstpulse and pattern, trigger mode mainly continuous mode and gated mode, burst mode and ext width mode. This topic studied various pulse synthesis methodsin different trigger mode, and discusses how to unite different pulse signal generation and control in the various trigger mode, to enhance the system’s reliability and reduce the circuit complexity.2.High precision, widerange of pulse width and pulse delay technology researchSignal delay technology and high speed data flip-flop are applied in this paper to realize the delay and pulse width control of pulse signal. For achieve accurate and wide range of pulse width and delay control, this paper will detail signals delay technology, focuses on the FPGA internal FIFO delay circuit, counting delay circuit, code conversion circuit and FPGA externalintegrated programmable delay line. This paper will combine features of different pulse signals at different trigger modes, it focuses on how to implement the pulse delay control and pulse width control with a delay circuit.3.System reliability and modular design and researchThe pulse generator hasthree trigger modes: continuous, gated and started,four different pulse types:single pulse and double pulse and pattern pulses,the signal period can be determined by an internal clock or an external clock. In order to ensure that in different operating modes can produce stable, effective and accurate pulse width and delay at all frequency band, the subject is fully considered the time delay of the signal transmission path, the temperature influence on the performance of the device and the device propagation delay and PCB, FPGA layout effect on the performance of the whole system. This design module can be used in a series of two different models(330MHz and 400MHz) pulse generator, the indexs are different, so it is necessary to ensure the reliability of the system as far as possible under the condition of the complete function of each model.
