Electromagnetic pulse with a steep front, narrow pulse width, the instantaneous release of a large number of energy can make electronic equipment, system cables and other serious damage. Experimental electromagnetic pulse simulation equipment in the electromagnetic pulse and engineering protection research is important.Through the combination of theory and practice, the combination of simulation and experiment, a set of pulse generator and the application of filter protection performance are studied. Pulse generator index rising edge <20ns,peak voltage ?5kV?±80kV adjustable,half pulse width 500 ?550ns. The contents of the work and summarized as follows.The influence of cylindrical, hemispherical head and cone electrode on the distribution of the electric field of the switch is analyzed by Ansoft software. The electric field distribution of the hemispherical head electrode is slightly nonuniform and the dispersibility is good; Matlab / simulink modeling analysis of energy storage capacitor, loop inductance, intrinsic resistance, ground capacitance and load resistance on the pulse waveform, loop inductance led to pulse rise time becomes larger, the output amplitude decreases, the smaller ground capacitance A certain waveform steep effect,too large waveform oscillation caused by serious waveform distortion.Through the calculation of the main parameters of the three-electrode gas switch,the design of the ring-type trigger gas switch and trigger circuit with adjustable trigger frequency, duty cycle adjustable advantages, but in the low voltage pulse discharge has a greater impact; In view of the above design of the electronic control gap adjustable gas spark switch has a wide range of triggering; The design of the switch gas is well sealed; In the pulse generator positive and negative output requirements under the design of the oil-immersed polarity of the switch; the pulse generator components connected and insulation structure optimization,to complete the prototype production.Pulse generator debugging test analysis of the switch cavity gas environment,coupling interference, characteristic impedance mismatch and loop inductance and other issues, by maintaining the gas dry and clean, reduce the unnecessary cable, the main components of the shield and structural optimization and other measures to eliminate the above phenomenon; Pulse generator voltage and current test in the rising edge are within 20ns,half pulse width of 500 ?550ns, there is a small margin error, the analysis may be resistive voltage divider or current probe there is a precision problem, there are loop circuit inherent resistance; The pulse generator application is realized by testing the AC power filter protection performance.When the self - breakdown voltage is high in the static characteristic analysis of the pulse generator output waveform, the measured value is less than the theoretical value; Trigger characteristic analysis proves that the trigger trigger range is above 60%; The higher the pressure in the switch, the greater the breakdown voltage, the rising time has reduced the trend; The greater the discharge gap, the higher the insulation strength, but the rising edge becomes larger.
