As a signal source in common use, pulse signal generator has been wildely used in modern measuring and controlling fields. It can generate pulse signals with fully controlled pulse parameters such as pulse width,pulse amplitude,signal delay.The major tasks of 100MHz pules generator design and practice are: synthesizing pulse and burst signals under three operating modes of continuous, started, gated and achieving the precision adjustment of pulse width,pulse amplitude,signal delay.Base on the importance of pulse signal generator in testing area and combining the project tasks, this dissertation focuses on the methods of pulse signal generation and pluse parameters adjustment,through analysis and comparision to different techniques, then we gets a complete and proper solution to achieve all woking modes and pluse parameters adjustment. To achieve indicators of frequency, the extent and level:the output frequency 1Hz ~ 100MHz, pulse width 5ns ~ 995μs (pulse width is non-adjustable below 1KHz, duty cycle is always 50%), resolution ratio 10ps and delay range 0CLK ~ 216 CLK, as well as magnitude range 0.1Vpeak-to-peak ~ 3.5Vpeak-to-peak(into 50Ωtermination), window level range-1.00V ~ 3.50V, resolution ratio 10mV.Finally the actual circuit testing and analysis prove the feasibility of the design.The main works of this dissertation includes:1. Illustrate the principles and methods for pulse generate,then finish circuit design and debug,finally achieve the instrument functions and targets.2. Achieve precise control of clock frequency through DDS.3. Achieve generating and controlling of pulse and busrt under three working modes and finish signal delay adjustment by FPGA.4. Achieve pulse width adjustment by counters and high precision programmable delay lines.5. Make use of pulse conditioning circuit with a core of pin-driver to adjust the pulse amplitude.6. Analyse and solve the problems met with circuit debugging. 7.Make the synthetic test to the accomplished instrument and give the test results and analysis.
