Abstract/Summary:
Passive optical network (PON) technology are widely applied in the distribution and utilization communications network. With the progress of society and the development of electric power automation, the need of distribution and utilization communications network’s bandwidth and information is improving, but traditional PON bandwidth and the transmission distance already can’t continue meet this requirement. The next generation of PON technology is vastly improved on transmission capacity and transmission distance. This paper provides engineering reference practice for building broadband distribution and utilization communications network basic on the research of the nest PON’s application in engineering examples and equipment performance.First of all, this paper expounds on the needs of communication for the distribution and utilization network, explains the characteristics of the distribution and utilization network communication and the structure of the distribution communication network, introduces and contrasts various distribution and utilization network communication technologys; researchs traditional PON technology’s EPON technology, GPON technology and APON technology, and analyses contrast, summarizes the characteristics and defects of the traditional PON. Secondly, this paper expounds on the characteristic, the standard and the industry chain of the PON next generation technology in10G EPON,10G GPON and WDM-PON, points out that the next generation PON has the advantages compared to the traditional PON. Then, combined with intelligent village specific business requirements, discusses the next generation of PON technology in a intelligent village application, proposes the network construction plan. Finally, according to the next PON network performance what the intelligent village requires, tests huawei’s10G EPON equipment performance, test result indicates:10G EPON equipment performance is superior, with big bandwidth, high reliability and coexistence, the network flexible, easy extension etc, compared to the traditional PON, can better satisfy people’s demand of big bandwidth and big capacity, more suitable for the places of bandwidth capacity high requirements.
