Temperature monitoring is an important means to determine the health status, especially in the condition that when a large outbreak of influenza or other infectious diseases, it is hard to confirm whether the body has been infected. Temperature monitoring is the most direct means to monitor large-scale infectious disease on campus where the population is relatively dense. Currently, the collection means of temperature of students on campus are basically manually. It’s almost impossible to detect suspected infections and take effective measures in time and it’s hard to have a certain lag. Wireless sensor networks as a new technology with low power consumption, self-organizing, intelligent and efficient, high reliability is being widely used in a variety of environmental monitoring and is ideal for temperature monitoring of school groups.This article is mainly about the design of the mass temperature monitoring for campus wireless sensor network gateway. Gateway is composed of control module、ZigBee wireless communication module and Ethernet communication module. RF module using radio frequency chip CC2430is adopted by the ZigBee wireless communication module as the core to establish and manage ZigBee wireless temperature monitoring network. Ethernet chips STE100P as the core module to realize the connectivity of wireless temperature monitoring network and remote monitoring system, STR912(a kind of chip in ARM9microprocessor chips family) as the main control module to achieve internal and external Ethernet wireless sensor network protocol conversion through the ZigBee communication module and Ethernet module.The system architecture has been proposed according to the function of the system and the distribution of existing LAN resources. The design of hardware and software are based on the gateway needs analysis. The design of power module, serial communication interface module, human-computer interaction interface module, ZigBee communication interface module and Ethernet module has been highlighted in hardware design. The system highlights; a kind of multi-task real-time operating system called μC/OS-II has been adopted, based on which LwIP protocol stack has been achieved, control module and serial communication frame format of ZigBee module has been designed in software design; the network of ZigBee network and data transmission have been researched, according which a clustered wireless sensor networks and ZigBee gateway module software system have been designed; Finally the whole system has been tested.
