Data Warehouse Modeling Technology Research Based On Web

With the extensive application of data warehousing, data warehouse modeli ng techniques has been booming.The traditional way to build data warehouse is using the application of dat a warehouse solutions. The data warehouse system created in this way is the C/S mode with complex system functions. But he combination of Web technol ogy and data warehouse modeling can overcome the deficiencies of the C/S m ode, and provide a better solution for enterprises to build cross-regional, cross-platform data warehouse.In this paper, we discuss the application of a Web-based data warehouse modeling techniques in small enterprises. First discuss the architecture of the Web-based data warehouse, methods and theories of data warehouse modeling t echniques, and other key technologies. Then this thesis shows the application of the data warehouse modeling in the process of building a data warehouse f or an e-commerce company. In the view of software engineering, I complete w orks about the requirement analysis, design of conceptual model, design of logi cal model, design of physical model, implementation of the system. I mainly st udies the following aspects. The first one is highlighting the process of buildin g a data warehouse.It is conducted according to the standard procedures for bu ilding a data warehouse. These procedures include determining the subject field, determining the fact table, selecting the dimension, determining the particle siz e and generating the whole data warehouse.The second one is to implement the combination of star model and snow model. The system can select the right model from star model and snow mode1automatically when the customer determines the subjects and fact tables. Fore ign keys between fact tables are canceled in snow model to reduce the couplin g and improve the query efficiency.Customers can use it anywhere and anytime as long as there is a connection to the Internet, because the system is based on web.
