Machinery manufacture industry is the most important pillar industry in the national economy, and the mould industry is the important component of machinery industry. At present the mould enterprise in our country recognizes widely that information technology has stimulative effect on enterprise management and operation, and implements informatization system of ERP, SCM, MES and so on. These business systems accumulate a large number of historical data after years of operation. The mould enterprise needs a way urgently to transform original transaction data into decision support data, and to enhance the enterprise’s decision-making capacity, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of the enterprise. Thus the mould enterprise puts forward informatization demand of higher levels and implementation of business intelligence system.This dissertation is to establish a business intelligence system for the mould enterprise that has rich indicator analysis like management cockpit. And the system provides the users with flexible and various modes of representation, including reporting, charts, ad hoc queries, OLAP analysis, indicator monitoring and so forth. In the dissertation, based on the background of mould enterprise, and according to the relevant theory of business intelligence, the key technologies were studied to establish business intelligence system for the mould enterprise.Firstly the design of KPIs of mould enterprise was studied. After analyzing the significance of the purchase of raw materials in the mould enterprise, the dissertation proposed the method of Balanced Score Card which includes five dimensions of financial, customers, suppliers, internal business processes, learning and growth. And the method was used to design KPIs of mould enterprise. The design steps of the method were explained, and the example of design of KPIs of enterprise level was demonstrated.Then establishment of data warehouse in the mould enterprise was discussed which mainly contain two parts of content:design of data model and design of data ETL. At first the subject requirements were analyzed in order to establish the data models. According to the distinction of business activities among departments, the subject were divided into ten major subjects, and the specific indicators of analysis demand of all subjects were defined explicitly. Secondly the establishment of data model was discussed, and detailed design process of dimension table, fact table and logic model with an example of sale subject, and also design of physical model. At the end the strategies of ETL data were illustrated that contains three kinds of strategies of full refresh, simple increment and contrast increment. And realization of ETL methods of dimension table and fact table with SSIS tools was comprehensively introduced.Finally implementation of business intelligence system in a mould enterprise was introduced which used solutions of business intelligence system designed in the front sections. The function of the system can be divided into two parts, KPI monitoring and indicator analysis. And indicator analysis was divided into ten modules according to the subjects. The main function of the system was demonstrated and explained with sample pictures in the section.
