In the traditional process of coking production, coke oven vehicles work separately. The communications between them are cooperated through interphones, which leads to several problems such as lower production efficiency, unreliability, malfunction and severe safety loophole. The present tendency of development of coke oven production control system is interlocking the four coke oven vehicles and centralized controlling by the ground central control room of coke oven. However, as the vehicles need to move within a large area, it is critical to build a steady and reliable wireless control network, which can improve the automation level of the coke oven production control system.Based on the analysis of coking process and its production process, combining with the production environment of coke oven, this paper proposes to build a wireless Ethernet, which can solve the coke oven vehicles’interconnection communication problem. The design and research of coke oven wireless Ethernet is completed based on the large-scale propagation model.At first, this paper chooses FLC-830E as the digital radio by analyzing the working principle and characteristics. After analyzing several kinds of large-scale propagation models, COST231-WIM model is chosen to forecast the coverage radius and the field strength of a specific location. In accordance to the system requirements, this paper chooses the parameters and uses the chosen propagation model to calculate the coverage radius of wireless data radio and completes the calculating of the important parameters in the network planning.This paper compiles the network planning aided design software by using VB, in order to achieve the function of getting three important parameters which are maximum transmission path loss, maximum cover radius and field strength of a specific location altering through system paramaters. This software can shorten the design cycle and improve efficiency.Finally this paper completes the planning of coke oven wireless Ethernet of one city by using the network planning aided design software, and achieves the work of planning and studying the wireless Ethernet of this factory.
