As the dependent of electronic computer equipment on daily growth, electromagnetic leakage of electronic equipment and the related TEMPEST technology have already become one of the most pressing issues to be solved in the field of information security. The key technology has become a hot spot in the study of all countries.One of the key TEMPEST technologies is efficiently receiving the leakage of electromagnetic waves launched by the computer in work. This paper proposed and implemented a practical solution for intercepting the leakage of electromagnetic waves.This paper began by describing the electromagnetic leakage interception and array signal processing, and then focused on the virtual-instrument-based DOA technology and the corresponding software and hardware implementation. The work and contributions are as follows:1 This paper used software radio technology, and based on the LabVIEW virtual instrument development platform, provided a software-radio-based virtual instrument intercepted platform model.2 This paper studies a set of Direction Finder system which can communicate with array antenna, oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer and other hardware. It has many advantages such as practical, modularized and interchangeable.3 This paper analyzed and implemented the MUSIC algorithm for broadband signals, including data acquisition module, the space signal analysis module,the number of target source estimates module, the spectrum peak search module and the data storage module. And then taked the video electromagnetic leakage information direction finder experiments and analyzed the system performance for narrowband signals and broadband signals, compared the similarities and differences with the two kinds of DOA estimations.4 This paper analyzed the broadband signal DOA estimation theory and presented a broadband MUSIC method.Taking video electromagnetic leakage as example, through virtual instrument platform to intercept and restore the broadband signals information, verified the importance and rationality of the virtual-instrument-based electromagnetic leakage direction finder system,compared the advantage with the traditional DOA estimation method.This paper was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation project "Cognitive for leakage of electromagnetic waves and study of video information mining technology", the project number: 61072136.
