Due to the growing need on the functions in a automobile, more and more electronic devices are put in a car, which causes more object to control. What’s more, communication needs between different parts in a car is exploding and this put great pressure on the communication system. To solve these problems, control network is a reasonable choice; it is also the tendency in building an automobile control system. In China, the development of automobile body control module is not mature. Most of the automobile manufactures adopt imported automobile body control system in their products. To change this situation, this thesis presents a hybrid automobile body control network using both CAN control network and LIN control network to meet high reliability and low cost requirements.This thesis first analyzes domestic and foreign current situation and trends of automobile body control system development. Dominant automobile network control systems, as well as the architecture, characteristic, diagram specification of CAN and LIN control networks, are introduced. Different automobile control schemas are compared and an automobile body control network is presented based on CAN/LIN network according to the system function needs. In the proposed system, CAN network is designed as the primary network and LIN network as the auxiliary network. According to different places of the electronic devices in the car, the control system is divided into the front end part and the backend part; the front end controller is the core of the controls system, its responsibility is to coordinate the whole system, work as a gateway between the CAN network and LIN network, as well as process and store the diagnostic data from different node in the control system; the backend controller waits for the control command from the front end controller and control the electronic devices in the backend of the automobile. Many EMC measures are used in the control network design to adapt the harsh environment in a car and reduce the possibility of communication error. At last, the proposed automobile body control network is tested and verified; experiment results prove that the proposed system is reliable and stable.
