The Use Of Multisensory Design In Digital Museum

Museums are loaded with long history and splendid culture. However, they will inevitably be damaged and corroded to some extent, even will disappear with the changing times. In recent years, the development of Multi sensory design and digital technology allows the possibility of preservation of digital museums and dissemination of culture. How to make use of multi sensory design to experience the culture of digital museums is an important issue to concern about.This paper studies in the use of multi sensory design in digital museum. It summarizes the technical characteristics and artistic features of the interactive digital museum system. points out that environmental entity with the cultural information and the sound of the digital museum environment should be truly reproduced. The virtual system should be designed in the logical and displaying level to ensure spatial and movement coordination of the reality of space and time, the virtual world of digital museum and visitor’s cognitional space. It should make use of the idea of categorization to divide the museum culture to structure the system and focus on the design of virtual characters and their behaviors in the system to enable visitors to more effectively reflect on the culture.In the era of digital technology, the use of multi sensory design for the protection of digital museum and culture is a necessity for the development of history and the need of the time. The exploration of virtual architecture system with cultural point of view provides a new way of thinking in protection of digital museum and dissemination of culture, which is with certain significance in practice. From the theoretical point of view, researches on other related programs of digital museum could learn from the multi sensory design based on sensory experience to establish a sensory experience targeted the interactive environment of digital museum.
