With the popularity and the rapid development of internet, the research of Web3D technology has got more attention. How to design and implement a digital display system on network is becoming a research hotspot. This paper, taking use of VR technology, computer network technology, human-computer interaction technology and database technology, will design and implement system of network digital aviation museum. It mainly includes four parts:1) Paper conducts research and application to three-dimensional model's VRML/X3D optimized modelling as well as X3D texture technology. It provides several methods in order to improve efficiency of the system and realism of X3D scenes.2) Paper designs and implements the system database which saves data information such as X3D models, texture and so no.3) Paper studies interaction mechanism between Virtual Reality design languageā€”X3D and external programming language and then proposes intercommunication methods, which has solved the interactive problem of Java Applet and the X3D scene, between X3D, JavaScript and Java and finally implements parametric design function for digital aviation museum with the combination of system database, making dynamic design for plane models, texture, illumination and navigation on web, designing various kinds of digital aviation museum by setting parameters.4) Paper studies combination mechanism, which has solved the interactive problem of X3D scene and database, of Ajax technology, X3D technology and XML technology and implements function to virtual display digital aviation museum, visiting the aviation exhibition by search or design mode. The results of this paper provide one kind of effective approach to design and implement network digit museum system.
