City street lighting system is an important part of the urban construction. Over the years, many cities also have been using traditional monitoring methods. With the accelerating pace of urban modernization, we should introduce an advanced street light monitoring system for an urgent need. The streetlight monitoring system will transfer observing data to the monitoring center via communication network and remote termina unit (RTU). After analysis and processing, it performs the corresponding operations to focus on achieving a smart data collection and monitoring. However, as the monitoring system, it will certainly face the amount of miscellaneous data and frequent communication. Therefore, database management in the monitoring system is bound to occupy a very important position. So database synchronization module in the monitoring system is very important, which is directly related to communications and run for the entire monitoring system.In this thesis, the focus is on research and design of database synchronization module of streetlight monitoring system. The topic comes from Anhui Sun Create Electronics Co., Ltd’s research and development projects. Considering the need of system and database synchronization, the synchronization module is designed based on the MSF framework. Meanwhile, using WCF technology achieve a distributed database synchronization module, which can achieving peer-to-peer database synchronization.Firstly the background of the design is introduced in the thesis. Via the introduction of the entire street light monitoring system, the position and role of the database synchronization module in the system can be understood clearly. Secondly, the database synchronization module mechanism is introduced including MSF and using the WCF technology. After determining the synchronization module framework and design structure, the specific implementation and design of the module is described. Finally, a test environment for the entire database module is built.After texting, the result is showed and analyzed.
