This paper presents the design of the monitor software for a portable monitoring well logging system. Many functions are developed and realized in this software, such as the reception and processing of data and parameter of logging work, dynamic display, storing, retrieval, as well as post-processing the data and parameter based on the characteristics of portable computerized well logging system.Firstly a review of the current status of the logging and ground processing industrial systems is presented with emphasis on the significance of the research contacted in the field as well as a thorough analysis of the PC based portable logging system significance and requirements. Based on the software methodology followed for the design of the Windows environment based system, requirement analysis, module design and implementation are discussed. An in-depth presentation of the design of the logging follows. According to the actual demand of logging, following highlights are featured in this dissertation:design user-friendly software interface;completed the view design of logging using multiple view and window segmentation method, designed the database using Access and integrated the database and the software with DAO technology;Adopted the MFC multi-thread programming and class encapsulation technology to realize a good many real time functions, such as real time communication, data receiving, data processing, real-time display, real-time printing, etc. Used multi-thread technology to realize real-time logging self-inspection and commissioning function. Adopted timer to realize the function of playback logging data; Used graphical representation and dialog box to realize the traversal function for curve and data;developed the capability to view and modify the logging data by dialog box;Used the dialog and multi-thread to realize the logging data post-processing;, Realized exchange and conversion of data files by way of the dialog box.The software system could communicate accurately and reliably with lower computer through serial port by testing satisfy the need of real-time logging, and also has a review and post processing function. As a result the software achieves purpose of the system design.
