As environmental issues become increasingly prominent, traditional informationanalysis and forecasting methods can not carry out the analysis in depth on a large numberof complex environmental information.Meanwhile, traditional information managementmodel can no longer meet the needs of the environmental management of informationprocessing. Facing massive environmental data, data mining can analyze a large number ofenvironmental data for exploring the previously unknown information which is useful fordecision-making. It is necessary for emphasizing the importance on research andapplication about data mining technology applied to, analyze and forecast environmentalinformation, to solve practical problems faced.Based on the review of the research status, data mining, this article studied theenvironmental information analysis and forecasting, environmental information systemsand other related theories.Meanwhile, this article addressed data mining technologyenvironmental decision support system model combined with data mining technologybased on the current environment information system. At the same time, this article studiedenvironmental decision support system model in depth, including the logic level of thesystem data architecture and functional modules. Then focus on the specific application ofdata mining techniques in the analysis and forecast of environmental information,including neural networks, correlation analysis, factor analysis, cluster analysis and outsideanalysis techniques. Finally, this article introduced a case to validate the use of data miningtechniques for carrying out the feasibility and applicability of the analysis and forecastinginformation on the environment. Based on what had been analyzed above, a conclusionwas acknowledged: due to the complex and dynamic nature of environmental problems,data mining methods on solving practical environmental problems is superior thanconventional mathematical methods. It can be predicted that data mining techniques on the analysis and forecast of environmental information will certainly be of great practical valueand broad application prospects.
