Today ratings has already became a important measure standard oftelevision programs and TV channels.Although ratings has advantages ofintuition and effective,but is also criticized for its commercial propertyby the theoretical circles. In this context,introducing a new measurestandard is taken for granted.Being the amendment to ratings,single measure standard putting intopractice in the television industry,appreciation index aims to completetelevision evaluation system and make the television industry developinghealthily.However,the data of appreciation is collected intricately,and ishard to match the content of programs as the ratings does.So thecombination of this two indexs is remaining in the phase of theoreticalresearch.Based on the results of a TV assessment system study which isprovided with international awareness of innovation, making theappreciation index matches the ratings, this thesis investigates thedeparture of the appreciation and ratings data from a new perspective,andthen discusses the function of TV audience.
