Research And Implementation Of The SNMP-based Hierarchical Sensor Network Management Technology

As a new network paradigm, wireless sensor networks (WSN) provides us with a new monitoring and control model. It has broad application prospects in the field of environmental monitoring and protection, the military field, health care, public safety, which has become a hot research and application spot domestic and international, and is the core of the next generation of information technology wave.The network management of WSN is a less research field. It is an important requisite to guarantee the reliability, stability and high efficiency in WSN and is being more and more concerned by science and technology workers. Owing to its characteristics, WSN has brought so many challenges for its management that the traditional network techniques can’t meet the management needs of WSN.This paper gives a deeply discussion and analysis on the exiting theory of network management of WSN, the following is my main work:1. Combined the characteristics of wireless sensor networks and the traditional network management technology, this paper gives an analysis of their management needs, to study the existing sensor networks management theory and technology, point out the problems which need to be reserved in the research of sensor network management.2. A new architecture of WSN management SH-WSNMA(SNMP-Based Hierarchical Architecture of WSN Management Architecture) is given. This thesis introduces the hierarchical management and centralized management methods, sets the Communication Control Manager(CCM) as the middle manager, responsible for the WSN management which belong to its communication domain, to reduce the workload of the top-level manager and the amount of management data on the network, purpose to solve large-scale sensor network management challenges. In order to meet the needs of remote management of WSN, the design of SNMP function struct for WSN management is given in this paper, with the definition of WSN-MIB and the implementation of WSN-Agent based on SNMP, make the remote management of WSN possible.3. The detailed design of SH-WSNMA is given in this thesis, and it is applied in the Internship.The WSN-MIB, WSN-Agent and Web-Manager are achieved.
